Sello Zipper Wallet (Horse Culatta Black)
Cut from Italian horse culatta, the Sello Zipper Wallet carries the raw grain and tonal breaks that develop deeper character with use. A Riri zipper in antique brass runs the length of the form, opening to a lined interior in Italian goat skin with an internal pocket for separation — cards on one side, folded notes or coins on the other.
A d-ring is built into the spine, allowing the wallet to be worn with a lanyard or chain when needed and carried cleanly on its own when not. Compact, quiet, and built for daily use, Sello favors material and function over excess detail — a simple piece that will register time in the way good leather should.

ABOUT HORSE CULATTA
Culatta horse leather is a revered material celebrated for its distinctive qualities, unmatched character, and ethical origins. As a byproduct of the food industry in Italy, this leather not only embodies the artistry of Italian craftsmanship but also reflects a commitment to sustainability by repurposing materials that would otherwise go to waste. This mindful approach ensures that every part of the hide is honored and utilized, adding depth to the story behind each piece.
Derived from the hind section of the hide, culatta is a specialized cut that includes the area just above the prized shell cordovan, along with parts of the belly and hind shanks. This unique combination creates a leather with a dense structure, tight grain, and a medium-to-firm temper, offering exceptional durability and versatility.
What sets culatta apart is its naturally irregular texture, which varies across the hide. On the reverse (flesh) side, subtle traces of shell cordovan bleed into the fibers, creating a chaotic yet captivating appearance. These grain irregularities give each piece made from culatta its own story, ensuring that no two items are ever the same. The natural beauty of this leather shines through its imperfections, showcasing a raw elegance that resonates deeply with aficionados of avant-garde fashion and timeless craftsmanship.
Thanks to its high oil content, culatta leather develops a rich patina over time, enhancing its natural luster and evolving with use. This transformation often results in a finish that appears almost metallic, making it a truly dynamic material.

PRODUCT CARE
Each piece is a testament to the beauty of natural materials and artisanal craftsmanship, so no two are ever exactly alike. The hand-dyed treatment and natural grain of the leather mean variations in texture and tone are to be expected—and celebrated. These characteristics are part of what makes your item truly one of a kind.
Everyday Use:
- Embrace the journey—use it, carry it, and let it develop its own story.
- Handle it with purpose, not delicacy. This leather is made to age beautifully with wear.
- Avoid detergents or harsh chemicals when cleaning; these can harm the natural finish.
- Store away from prolonged direct sunlight to maintain its rich color and prevent fading.
Applying Protective Cream:
- For extra care, use a leather cream sparingly to nourish and protect.
- Apply a small amount of cream to a soft, clean cotton cloth.
- Gently massage in a circular motion, ensuring even coverage over the leather's surface.
- For especially dry areas, repeat the process after a few hours if necessary.
- Remember: never apply cream directly to the leather—it’s always best to use a cloth.
- Over time, the cream will enhance the natural sheen and may slightly darken the leather, deepening its character.
By following these simple care tips, your piece will age gracefully, developing a unique patina that tells its story—and yours.
